Child in Scotland Burned to Death at Home

A two year old child of Mr and Mrs John Summerville was burned to death Wednesday afternoon at their Scotland home. The mother left the child with another youngster about four or five years old while she checked the house for feed and water. A fire occurred though cause uncertain, with speculation a younger child pushed a kerosene stove or appliance, leading to the fatal blaze.

Typhoid Death Claims Boy in Scotland Area

Eleven year old Clem McElroy of Scotland died at home last Wednesday from typhoid fever. He was survived by his parents William and Mrs McElroy, a brother and four sisters. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church with Rev. Brodt officiating. burial followed in the local cemetery.

Gun accident injures man returning from hunting

A man was shot in the hand when a twenty-tap revolver discharged in his hands yesterday afternoon. The ball entered near the wrist after being handed to him by a friend on returning from a hunting trip. He received medical care in the city.
