Public Library Opens to All with Plans for Reading Room
The town library is now free to the public though maintenance tax starts next June. About six hundred books with fifty to one hundred added from the state library circulate. readers are invited to visit, meet the librarian, and join as reading members for a small fee. The librarian asks for return of missing seventy books and urges community support with the slogan Help the Library.

Closing Chapter in Local Light Plant Takeover
W H Janked Murphy, who bid in the light plant receiver sale, caused its collapse. The buyers who acquired it were on site this week dismantling machinery and removing poles and wires. A large crew spent most of the week stripping the lines and will ship the material shortly. The field is open for a new plant development.

Forsythe named custodian of Daviess county court house
O. D. Forsythe of Madison township was appointed by the board of county commissioners to succeed China Myers as custodian of the Daviess county court house. The appointment takes effect January 1 after a lengthy selection from many applicants. Forsythe, a prominent local farmer, plans to move his family to Washington. He has twelve years in Daviess county and sixteen years of railroad work. He has served as a Democratic precinct committeeman in Madison township for two campaigns.
