Windstorm damages Indiana Glass Works furnace room roof
A Sunday windstorm unroofed the southern Indiana Glass Works furnace room, tearing off a 15 by 65 foot section above the main tank. Workers fled as dust and soda ash filled the room, blinding several, with Richard Arvin narrowly escaping injury after a fall. By nightfall about one third of the roof had been repaired and total damage pegged at roughly $150.
