Missionary Tea in Danner's Hall Highlights Event

The Missionary Tea of the M. E. church was held at Danner's hall on a Wednesday evening with pink and green decorations and a fine program. Refreshments of ice cream and cake were served. Old papers for sale at this office.

First Day of Congress Opens with Routine Sessions

The fifty sixth Congress began its last session as the Senate quickly arranged preliminaries and the House followed. President Roosevelt’s appointments were sent to the Senate for confirmation and an executive session decided no confirmations until the annual message is received. Deaths among lower-house members were noted as a record number took the oath. Speaker Cannon appointed James R. Mann to the Smithsonian board. The day closed with the House adjourning in memory of deceased members. Alpha Club hosted by Mrs. Charles McNeely with a two course lunch and a prize raffle winner.
