Mrs. Jas Hamilton Beveridge, formerly Mrs. Nedip Edwards Hamilton of Jasonville, dies at home after long illness. Born in Kansas, she moved to Oton then Jasonville, raised two sons, and attended church at Sanvidle. Her husband Beveridge won the United States Senate nomination by acclamation at the Progressive state convention in Tomlinson Hall.
A faded page fragment reveals partial text about death notices and advertisements. The illegible content hints at late 19th or early 20th century style with references to death, fashion, and a store catalog.

L H Wen, former operator of the Whin Front Restaurant, plans a sanitary grocery on West Spring Street within days. He bought stock in Indianapolis and will stock a complete line of faces and staple groceries upon opening. J EB Lashing of Elnora visited Montsy.
Mrs Will Corbin daughter of the late Hiram Brown died Friday morning at her home two miles east of Burns City after a brief illness. She was 32, survived by husband, mother and three sisters Mrs James Sinclair Mrs Will Webster and Mrs Fortoer of Martin County. Funeral held at the Burns City Christian Church with burial at Barns City ferry.
Newberry High School graduates seven students tonight with first full four course guest program. Geo H Humphreys superintendent praised for four years of leadership. Indiana figure Hon Thos R Kuhs to address with Encampment on the Silent Battlefield. Graduates include Chas Reign Crooke Hazel Johnson Marie Wen Abbie Hasler Ethelhelen Woodhouse Ruth Quackenbush Lela Roach. Senior play Mr Bob plus Miss Obstinacy drew a full house and netted 840.
Arnold Johnsson of Elvora has received a patent for an automatic electric device to prevent railroad collisions. The invention, operated by charged rails, stops two approaching trains without engineer input. A Colorado offer of 50000 was rejected as the inventor believes the patent is worth more. The device is untested officially. another similar device is under test on the New York Central Lines to Pennsylvania. The inventor, about 30 and married, works for Green Johnson's store in Elvora.
Mrs. Lydia Anne Crites Seneff age 77 longtime resident of this township died last Sunday at her residence from heart trouble. Born August 10 1837 she was married to Jacob B. Seneff in 1860 and had one son and seven daughters. Surviving are son Grant Seneff of Dale Indiana and daughters Mary Ziegler Annie Burress Stella Jarvis Indianapolis Ella Kevlon Michigan plus 24 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral at 10:50 Tuesday at the Christian church with Rev H H Buchapen in charge burial at Walunot.
Correlb completed extensive improvements to his shop on South Brim Street. The building was renovated and refurnished with new hydraulic barber chairs, giving the shop a leasing appearance and enhanced frontage.
The family thanks friends and neighbors for kindness during the illness and funeral of their mother Lydia A. Seneff. Gratitude extended to Rev. Mrs Chas Taylor of Pekins Missouri died at her residence last Friday from an abscess of the brain. Former resident of this community she was well known east of here. Survived by husband five children three brothers and two sisters. She was a member of the United Brethren church.

The will of James H. Garten, president of the Farmers Bank, leaves his estate to his daughter Mrs. Elmer E. Hastings of Washington and son James E. Garten of Chicago, with forty acres to grandchildren. The widow Mary Elien Garten is to be supported by the son and daughter. Forty acres in Madison township go to Ralph John and Eleanor Lastings. The will, dated February 22, names Henry J. McCoy and Elmer B Hastings as witnesses and James Hastings as executor.

Elizabeth Critchlow aged eighty four and formerly of this city died Wednesday morning at the home of Mr and Mrs Al Tarr in Plainville pneumonia was the cause after about six days illness She is survived by two children John Critchlow Bloomfield and Mrs Sallie Haig Tudisonpolis and several grandchildren Funeral services were held at the Baslesville M E church with Rev Denbo in charge Burial followed in Baslesville cemetery Mrs Critchlow had lived in baslesville about five years and was a member of the Baptist church.
G H Gilpatrick of Rexall drug store recalls Vera Cruz capturing this week by the U S fleet. He visited two winters ago and owns many photographs of the city and harbor. He arrived in New York aboard the steamship Esperansa which is taking foreign refugees aboard.
Freeman's bakery has moved from the K. of P. building on West Alain Street to the Jollik building on East Main and is fully equipped. The new location offers a better appearance and will host an advertising line in the Journal to attract customers this week.
A new time card for the C T H and S E lines took effect last Sunday. No. 5 now leaves at 7 53 p m and No 3 at 3 15 p m, enabling a same day trip to Washington from Odeon. Trains connect at El Nora via the South Eastern, with a brief three minute wait.
