Widespread rainfall caused washouts and flooding from Burng Creek to White River, crippling rail lines and stranding communities. Roads washed out, several lines suspended, and towns like Plainville and Terre Haute reported track damage as crews worked to restore service. Local guidance urged residents to praise and improve their town, supporting home trades and local businesses during recovery.
Prohibitionists met at the town hall Saturday afternoon with Dravi Williams presiding. Halett was elected chairman and Wallace Smiley secretary. A ticket was selected with Fred Lovells as Trustee and Harvey E. Ward as Assessor. Advisory Board members include Milo Sisney George W. Henderson and Frank Heal.

Last Friday afternoon a freight train on the S I railroad struck a passenger car at the Seneff cut. Julia Parren and Mek Deer rode the car and escaped on foot. Dyer was struck by the engine not seriously hurt but requiring a crutch for mobility.
