House approves tax deduction for kidnapped children
The House passed 419 to 0 a bill allowing parents of kidnapped children to claim the dependent deduction of 2800 dollars until the child turns 18. Rep. Jim Ramstad said the law would correct an IRS reversal and give families relief while they search for the missing child. The Clinton administration supports the measure and similar Senate action is expected.
