Tire Pressure Change for Firestone P235/75R15 on Explorers

For ten years 26 psi was the recommended pressure for 15 inch Explorer tires. Goodyear and Firestone endorsed this, but Firestone now advises 30 psi for P235/75R15 tires. Ford approves 26-30 psi range. owners of Explorer Mercury Mountaineer and Mazda Navajo with Firestone tires should set to 30 psi.

Ford Firestone recall update urges tire replacement before November

Over 2.8 million tires, 44 percent of recalls, have been replaced. Production from Goodyear and Michelin is expanding with thousands of tires arriving to finish replacements by month end. Check Firestone Recall Information Center for certified replacement tires and locate an authorized center on Ford dot com. If outlets are unavailable, other retailers may carry certified tires and provide a claim form for reimbursement.
