Stones Begin 40 City Tour At Philadelphia Stadium
The Rolling Stones opened a 40 city United States tour before 90,000 fans at John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia, performing 26 songs in two hours 13 minutes with energetic crowd reactions and a water toss by Mick Jagger. Meanwhile Pat Benatar collapsed on stage in Lakeland, Florida, and was hospitalized for gastroenteritis during a 10,000-strong audience show. In New York, Brooke Shields’ mother sought to block nude photos of her daughter at age 10, with a temporary restraining order granted to prevent sale of the images by photographer Gary Gross.
