Thomas E. Kluczynski, a retired Illinois Supreme Court justice, and his wife Melanie, a Chicago library board member, allege humiliation and indignity after being bumped from seats on a Chicago to Orlando flight on February 19, 1976. Their attorney Philip Corboy said the case will show the airline and Arlington Travel Center caused the weekend trip to be ruined as they could not fly as scheduled. The couple were invited by Leonard Lavin of Alberto-C Culver Co. to Florida to witness a foal’s birth.
