Risks of marijuana use warned to parents by ONDCP chief
Washington AP The nation's drug policy director John Walters urged parents to stop trivializing marijuana dangers noting more teens enter rehab for marijuana addiction than for alcohol or all illegal drugs combined. He announced a broad anti drug media campaign with education groups and ads in NFL venues. Surgeon General Carmona cited higher tar and brain effects versus tobacco and warned one in five eighth graders has tried marijuana. Medical leaders urged consistent messages and adult example to deter youth use.
