A $67,000 damage suit was settled in 70th District Court Thursday over injuries alleged by Elenora Bird from a Jan 3 1968 collision at Patton and East County Road. Fire Destroys 1965 Car in Belmont Burn Scene
City firefighters battled a car fire at 42nd and Loop 338 in which a 1965 model car owned by A A Kates of 616 North Belmont was nearly destroyed. About 10 gallons of water were used. The vehicle is a total loss. Nearby, an electric stove sparked smoke at 900 North Washington and was disconnected. A fault at a telephone pole on 44th and West County Road caused a breaker and short circuit fire, destroying the fuse breaker. Two grass fires on vacant lots at 2130 West 83rd and 8701 North Golder were extinguished.
