Pyramid Rover Delivers Clues Behind Egypt's Great Pyramid Door
A toy train sized robot crawled into the Great Pyramid shaft and opened a door but found another sealed barrier. The Pyramid Rover, built by iRobot with National Geographic and Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities, conducted the live two hour inspection broadcast by Fox and NatGeo. Researchers plan further study as engineers controlled the robot via cables due to radio limits. The project, costing about 250000, aims to uncover secrets of Khufu's shafts and their possible religious symbolism.
