Labor Day rally roasts Reagan and Clements in Permian Basin
About 300 attendees at the 24th annual Permian Basin Labor Day event at Floyd Gwin Park heard a mix of political rhetoric and union praise as speakers roasted President Reagan and Gov. Bill Clements for air traffic controllers and big business ties while Texas Comptroller Bob Bullock backed State Sen. Peyton McKnight. Proceeds from pie auctions benefited the Jerry Lewis Telethon for Muscular Dystrophy.
