Friday results show 331 votes cast at the Ector County Annex raising early voting and mail totals to 2,089. Voting hours run 8 to 5 on weekdays with extended 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday. The local ballot includes a $95 million courthouse bond.
REXtac announced a more than $680 million expansion to use local natural gas liquids for polypropylene production. President Nick Fowler said the project will cut propylene feedstock costs and boost competitiveness globally, creating a local NGL market linked to oil and gas firms.
REX tac k plans to expand via its REXpro unit in the Permian Basin to produce 42,000 barrels per day of natural gas liquids and upgrade lines to make over 270 kilotons of polypropylene annually. The project, expected online mid 2016, would add about 150 full time jobs plus construction roles, using propane dehydrogenation to convert propane into propylene for polypropylene products.
Rosa Elva Sanchez failed to appear for a pre trial hearing in Judge Dean Whalen's court on a pit bull attack that left a woman hospitalized. Bond forfeiture was requested by Ector County prosecutors. Sanchez faced a third degree felony charge for attack by dog resulting in serious bodily injury.
After a long wait the Ector County District Attorney re indicted 44 year old Robert K Young on two more counts of improper relationship between educator and student He is alleged to have used the Internet and text messages to solicit meetings and to distribute sexually explicit material The case was set for trial next week following a review after a former prosecutor quit shortly before the trial was to begin.
