DNA indictment changes in Lubbock rape case

In Lubbock a man was indicted on aggravated sexual assault and habitation charges after DNA from evidence from the 1998 rape linked him to the case and another in Amarillo. The May 2001 DNA indictment halted the five year statute and marked a first in the city for charging a DNA profile without a name.

Heavy rains flood southeast Texas killing Beaumont woman

Southeast Texas endured heavy rains and flooding on Tuesday causing street and home floods. A Beaumont woman, Theresa Charles, died in a submerged car south of downtown, as officials reported evacuations and airport closures nearby.
