Minister could be defrocked in gay marriage trial
In Chicago a United Methodist minister faces a church trial to determine defrocking for performing a gay marriage. Rev Gregory Dell says he acted from fidelity to Christ and his ordination vows as he extended ministry to two men in love. Trial could begin as early as January after the Judicial Council ruling against ceremonies celebrating homosexual unions. Dell officiated a holy union for Keith Eccarius and Karl Reinhardt on September 19.
