Oxford House pioneers recovery homes in Permian Basin
Kurt Knewitz a Dallas native started a men’s Oxford House on Shell Street and a women’s house on Keswick Road to aid addicts reentering life after treatment. With seven men and up to eight women residents paying 80 dollars weekly, the homes rely on faith and community support to reach self sufficiency within about two months. Midland Odessa recovery networks back the effort as Oxford House residents report a 75 percent recovery rate through peer support and shared daily responsibilities.
