Carter Plans Israel Egypt Joint Projects Amid Peace Talks
Diplomats report the Carter administration aims to involve Egypt and Israel in joint U S funded economic ventures after a peace treaty is signed. Increased aid, about 1.5 billion dollars annually to each country, would finance common projects, with energy cooperation and a Sinai-Jordan road among options. A Fulbright style expert exchange could also be funded by Washington.
