Storms deliver rain across West Texas with hail reports
A line of thunderstorms stretching from Lubbock to Monahans dropped rain and nickel sized hail across the Permian Basin. Meteorologist Eddie Brite said some areas near Wink and Kermit may have seen up to 2 inches of rain per hour as storms moved east at 15 mph. Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for Winkler and southeastern Ector Counties with radar estimating Odessa received 0.2 to 0.5 inches. The forecast calls for a 40 percent rain chance today and cooler, mostly cloudy conditions through Tuesday.
