CNN lands Cronkite for Glenn space flight coverage
Walter Cronkite will anchor CNN’s live coverage of John Glenn’s spaceflight liftoff with Miles O’Brien, returning Oct. 26 and staying through the Nov. 7 landing. CBS will air special reports and interview Cronkite for 60 Minutes as CNN sells feeds to CBS stations. Cronkite notes CNN’s deeper space coverage mirrors 1960s networks.
