Tire pressure change for Explorer recall tires prompts guidance
Ford notes a long standing 26 psi recommendation for 15 inch Explorer tires but Firestone now urges 30 psi for P235/75R15 tires within Ford's approved 26 to 30 psi range. Owners of Explorer Mercury Mountaineer and Mazda Navajo with recalled Firestone tires should follow Firestone guidance. Over 3.6 million tires have been replaced and production from Goodyear and Michelin is increasing to complete replacements by November.
