CIA says Paisley death linked to spy work and CIA role
The AP report says John Paisley, a former CIA official and current consultant, may have been killed due to his ties with the agency and Soviet intelligence activity. His body was recovered from the Patuxent River with diving weights and a bullet wound, prompting both police and contested CIA involvement in the inquiry. Medical examiners noted a .38 caliber shot to the head and possible self-inflicted or execution-style death.
