NJ Transit accumulates 150 accidents and $4.8M in damages
Federal data show NJ Transit trains involved in over 150 accidents since 2011 causing more than 4.8 million dollars in track or equipment damage and settlements exceeding 500 thousand dollars for safety violations. An audit found dozens of safety violations ahead of the Hoboken crash, with 25 accidents in 2015 and 10 in the first seven months of 2016, none injuring or killing.
