Submarine smuggling ring uncovered near Facatativa
In Facatativa Colombia investigators halted a secret plan to finish a submarine designed to smuggle 150 tons of cocaine to the United States. Workers, including Russians, labored around the clock in a warehouse as police and US authorities seized the site. The vessel, 100 feet long with a double hull, could evade Coast Guard detection and was close to completion.
