Judge hopeful on probation for nonpayment
Republican County Judge candidate Jerry Caddel, an Odessa attorney, is on probation for nonpayment of child support. Records show a 60 month probated sentence in May 1995, with $28,000 due, now reduced to $5,906. He says laws changed and delays in court rulings increased the balance, but he has paid most and continues to pay. Caddel attributes income swings to solo practice and labels the attention to his past as political.
