Three autos stolen with one recovered by Saturday
One of three autos reported stolen Friday was recovered Saturday morning. Brenda Parson reported her 1979 auto taken Friday afternoon from in front of her home. it was found Saturday in an alley in the 1900 block of East 5th. Missing cash was $27. Additional thefts included a 1974 auto driven away in an alley near Village Market and a 1970 auto stolen from a lot on Andrews Highway. Also reported: seven eight track tapes, a tv, rent nonpayment items, candy money from a fire station, gas, and several bicycles.

Local vandals damaged houses and vehicles Friday night and Saturday in Odessa. Residents on Whitaker and North Sixth reported shoe polish on autos, with several windows broken by pellet gun fire and a Postal Service jeep damaged on West Sixth. Odessa accident leaves two injured in early Saturday crash
Two people were admitted to Medical Center Hospital after a one car crash in the 4900 block of East 42nd. Jessie Longoria Cuellar, 36, of Midland, was listed in critical condition with chest injuries a fractured right leg and left ankle. Andrea Charles, 21, of 315 East Elm, a passenger, was in stable condition with facial abrasion chin laceration and left ankle injuries. The pickup, driven by Cuellar, was westbound on East 42nd around 12:23 a.m. when it struck a culvert.

Odessa Man Jailed for Assault on Police Officers
Marcario Hinojos Estorga, 29, of Odessa, was held in Ector County Jail on $25,000 bond for assault on an officer and $2,000 bond for resisting arrest after police stopped a car on South Jackson for erratic driving. Officers said Estorga and a female companion fought. Estorga allegedly struck two officers in the face and kicked one in the leg while defending the woman.
