Damages Sought in Civil Suit Over Backyard Injury

Marie Bentley of Odessa sues Southwestern Bell Telephone Co in 161st District Court seeking 26000 for injuries after a back yard excavation laid cable in October 1970. She alleges her right leg sank into dirt while crossing the repair site on September 17, 1971, causing injuries.

Spring Signup Surges At Odessa College OC sees 450 preregistered for spring term

More than 450 students pre-registered for Odessa College spring classes by 8:45 a.m. in Room 99 on December 11, with 425 signed up and 23 taking a test that day. Five Suspects Face DWI Counts in Odessa

Five Odessa motorists were charged Wednesday with driving while intoxicated. Billy Bill, 48, was arrested 11:20 p.m. Thursday 26 miles west of Odessa. Willie Van Hillman, 46, was arrested 10:00 p.m. last Wednesday 11 miles west on SH 20. Paul Jay Throckmorton, 48, arrested 11:55 p.m. Saturday one mile north on Golder. Hershel Baker Wesson, 47, Route 2, arrested 10:55 p.m. Saturday on US 385 inside Odessa. Willard Jim Little, 42, charged with driving while license suspended also, arrested 10:45 p.m. last Wednesday 0.5 mile north on US 385. All released on bonds of 600 except Little who was remanded on two 1,000 bonds.

Suit Seeks 60000 Damages After Auto Collision

Martin of 1800 Petroleum was reported in satisfactory condition at Medical Center Hospital after suffering multiple lacerations contusions and abrasions from a fall from a moving car on East 51st Street Tuesday afternoon. He remained under observation Wednesday with injuries described as non life threatening by hospital officials.
