Feds subpoena Odessa leaders in 1981 fire probe
Federal subpoenas target Odessa Mayor Bob Bryant and County Commissioner Willie Hammond as part of a grand jury investigation into a downtown Odessa building fire on November 25, 1981, with arson suspected. Airplane Seized With 1000 Pounds Mexican Marijuana At Midland Airpark
Midland Police Lt Gary Painter reports a loaded aircraft found at Midland Airpark containing an estimated 1000 pounds of high grade Mexican marijuana. Federal and Midland authorities seized the plane and cargo on Tuesday evening. Two men, one from Everett Washington and one from Sacramento California, were arrested and held in Midland City Jail. Ed Mazurek says the aircraft, registered to B S Properties of Sacramento, landed at the city airport Tuesday after previously flying from Midland. The U S Customs Service air support tracked the plane.
