Whales likely back in Pacific near Golden Gate
California officials report two humpback whales, likely a mother and calf, have probably returned to the open sea after days of sightings in the Sacramento River and San Francisco Bay. NOAA and state crews launched government boats Wednesday to monitor their path from the Pacific.
