Country music’s growing reach through radio surveys
More than 500 radio stations in the United States and Canada began playing country music in the past year. A CMA survey lists 2,907 stations airing country at least part time, up 21 percent from last year, with 1,785 full time. Ed Benson notes formats aim for ages 21 to 49, expanding country’s appeal through broader production and relatable lyrics.
