Transit fares rise as services shrink in SE Pennsylvania
PHILADELPHIA AP Hayes a 32 year old Philadelphia worker faces longer commutes as SEPTA plans to close a 55 million deficit by cutting a bus line. Nationwide, transit systems raise fares cut service and delay capital projects to cover about 6 billion in deficits. APTA says 90 percent of large agencies have raised fares or are considering it. a third cut service and nearly 20 percent dropped routes.
