Dr. Rafiul Sameer Islam discusses gluten misconceptions and the role of FODMAPs in gut symptoms. He explains gluten is a protein in wheat, barley, and rye, and highlights that a gluten-free diet may not help those without celiac disease. He notes only about 8 percent show true gluten sensitivity and suggests low FODMAPs may aid some on gluten free plans, with guidance to consult a gastroenterologist before elimination diets.
