Iraq Through the Ages From Mesopotamia to 2003 War
A concise chronology traces Iraq from ancient Mesopotamia through Sumer, Hammurabi, Babylon, and Assyria to Arab conquest, Ottoman rule, British mandate, oil nationalization, Baathist leadership, the Iran Iraq war, Gulf actions, sanctions, and the 2003 U.S. coalition assault, citing CIA World Factbook and other sources.
Iraqi oil hopes clash with price and policy risks
Analysts and Iraqi exile voices see exports potentially reaching four to six million barrels a day, boosting reconstruction funding, but warn such expansion could unsettle OPEC strategies and lower prices. Abraham notes a jump beyond two million bpd needs large investment and years, calling massive near term increases exaggerated. He says Iraq’s future oil policy decisions should be Iraqi-led, with regional stability easing supply concerns for all nations.

Girl brings three skulls to school show and tell
A 12 year old girl at a Covina California school brought three human skulls for show and tell. The skulls allegedly came from her grandmother who found them in a mobile home park trash. Catherine Knoll of Duarte identified them as belonging to her late husband William Knoll who reportedly acquired them in Europe in 1967 and brought them to the United States. The disposal occurred as the owner moved. All three skulls are described as nearly intact.
