43 Southern Baptists resign over faith statement
The International Mission Board fired or accepted resignations from 43 overseas workers who refused to affirm the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message, which opposes female pastors and states wives should submit to their husbands. IMB President Rankin set a deadline to endorse the statement or face dismissal.
