Swiss banks agree to access Holocaust era accounts
New York AP Swiss banks Credit Suisse and UBS told Judge Edward Korman they will provide access to databases of about 2.1 million Holocaust era accounts to speed payments to heirs. The settlement, worth 1.25 billion dollars, seeks court approval and faster disbursement this year with Volcker backing the move. The banks will share information to match claims as agreed in the 1998 settlement.
