Cable not on map fuels hearings for two Marine crewmen
At Aviano Italy a ski lift cable sliced by a low flying EA 6B Prowler killed 20 in the Italian Alps. Capt Chandler Seagraves and Capt William Raney II face court martial on 20 counts each of involuntary manslaughter and negligent homicide. The cable reportedly was 370 feet high while the plane flew below minimum altitude. The four crew members are based at Cherry Point near Camp Lejeune. The hearings will determine if they should be court martialed and possible sentences up to 20 years per charge.
