Lawmakers weigh tax exemption for RVs in Texas
Winter Texans pressure lawmakers as Cameron and Hidalgo counties resist removing ad valorem taxes on travel trailers. Sen. Eddie Lucio backs a 2007 bill clarifying park model trailers to exclude them from taxes, arguing it protects a key winter resident economy that brings over 400 million dollars and 150000 visitors annually, despite potential county revenue losses of up to 237000.
