UTPB faces budget cuts and funding shifts in Texas plan
University president Watts warns that House and Senate budget proposals slice CEED and JBS Leadership funding while Institutional Enhancement faces a larger gap. The split TOS funding and tuition reliance could force rent increases at CEED or program cuts as enrollment grows and state support shrinks. Watts says UTPB must hire faculty and expand offerings to serve rising enrollments.
