Odessa City Council members and University of Texas Permian Basin officials will meet at 6 p.m Wednesday to discuss the future use of the recreational sport facilities at UTPB Park. The public meeting is open to residents.
Councilman Mark Matta notes that upgrading sports facilities boosts quality of life and city revenue. A Wednesday meeting in the Oregon Room near the UTPB football field aims to inform sports associations and council members of all ages, linking efforts across groups.

The Crisis Center of West Texas hosts Art Against Assault an April 20 show at 7 p.m. at Cactus House 114 E 29th St. All media accepted consent promotion and change. Tye Sikes, part of STEM's first senior class at UTPB STEM Academy, plans to graduate May 28 with over 60 college credits and pursue graduate studies after a brief break. He has taken courses at the University of Texas Permian Basin while continuing high school in person and online. He shadows robotics, participates in a high school esports league, and notes college work is tougher but valuable for his goal of becoming a mechanical engineer.
Jersey Mike’s locations in Odessa and Midland wrap March Month of Giving with a Day of Giving. On Wednesday, 100 percent of that day’s sales go to West Texas Food Bank to aid neighbors in the area. Franchisee Waylon McHale notes the four year partnership, aiming for about $15,000 after last year’s over $10,000.
