Larry McMurtry, Pulitzer Author, Dies at 84 in Texas
Renowned writer Larry McMurtry has died at age 84 from heart failure, per a family statement via his publicist. The Archer City Texas native and longtime bookseller lived between Texas and Arizona and co wrote the Oscar winning Brokeback Mountain screenplay. His novel Lone Some Dove won the Pulitzer Prize in 1986 and his works inspired films including The Last Picture Show and Terms of Endearment.
