U.S. District Judge Thomas Flannery ruled Exxon overcharged by $895.5 million by misclassifying old Hawkins field crude as new under 1973 price controls, ordering the funds to be put in escrow and distributed via federal energy conservation programs. Exxon said it will appeal the decision.
