Transplant recipient shows rejection signs at Stanford
Stanford heart lung transplant recipient Mary Gohlke, 45, was placed on a respirator after the first signs of rejection emerged since her March 9 operation. Hospital officials said she also receives higher doses of anti rejection drugs while fluid buildup in the lungs complicates breathing. Gohlke previously received the heart and lungs of 15 year old Roger Jones in a traffic accident, following pulmonary hypertension.
