BP Amoco pledges Alaska oil export halt if merger clears
BP Amoco told Rep. Don Young it will stop exporting Alaska crude and redirect 60,000 barrels a day to California after current contracts expire, contingent on FTC approval of its merger with Atlantic Richfield. The plan hinges on selling Alaska holdings and using Arco's West Coast network post-merger.
