Trucker Arrested After I-20 Crash In Odessa Injures Girl
An 11 year old girl was critically hurt when a truck rear ended a Chevrolet Malibu on East Interstate 20 in Odessa. The impact pushed the Malibu into a GMC Sierra injuring three other children including a year old boy. Irvin Dominguez 28 was arrested on suspicion of driving while license invalid with prior convictions. The crash occurred at 544 p m in the 1900 block of East I 20 as all three vehicles traveled east.

Teen arrested on charges of assault
A 17 year old Odessa youth was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly throwing a kitchen knife at his grandfather when he refused a Dairy Queen trip. The incident happened on South Sam Houston Avenue, the suspect was held at Ector County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond. Police responded to a domestic disturbance call and identified the victim as a 61 year old man and the grandson as the arrestee.

A thrift store began operations in November 2016 running 9 am to 7 pm Monday through Saturday. Family escapes injury in mobile home fire
A family of five escaped unharmed when a sofa fire in a mobile home at the 4800 block of Golder Avenue was fought with a garden hose before firefighters arrived. The home, damaged and deemed unoccupiable, left the two adults and three children homeless with Red Cross assistance.

Bubba's 33 plans a June 12 opening in Odessa at 6153 Highway 191, creating about 170 jobs eight weeks before launch.
