The couple, who wed in 1942 after a spontaneous elopement to a Stanton pastor, have four children, nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one on the way. They met at a gas station near Westbrook, dated through Edna’s schooling, and spent World War II apart only briefly. Now aging together with health challenges, they remain devoted and surrounded by family.
