Liberator Bill Womack recalls Nazi camp horrors and project
Midland veteran Bill Womack describes the grim sight of Nazi camps as he liberated four camps from the inside. He recalls emaciated prisoners, the crematorium smokestack refrain, and orders to withhold rations. The Texas Holocaust and Genocide Commission and Baylor and Texas Tech plan a virtual liberator book and an online exhibit launching Veterans Day at Camp Mabry with an Honor Roll of 320 veterans.
