Houston couple accused of hiring hit man
A Houston veterinarian Valerie Busick McDaniel and her boyfriend Leon Jacob are charged with solicitation of capital murder for allegedly hiring an undercover officer posing as a hit man to kill McDaniel’s ex-husband and Jacob’s ex-girlfriend to prevent testimony. Bail set at 50000 for McDaniel. Jacob held on existing bail with stalking and assault charges.

Man charged in death of grandmother in Houston
Harris County officials say 21 year old Nathan Billingsley is charged with murder in the death of 67 year old Hazel Billingsley. Deputies responded to a welfare call after family sought help when Nathan allegedly threatened to kill her. They found Hazel’s body wrapped in a blanket in a shed behind her Houston area home.

Traffic stop leads to narcotics arrest and ICE detainer
A white Dodge Ram with multiple traffic violations was stopped on West University Boulevard. Deputy Dustin Aldermen detected marijuana odor and found heroin-like tar in bags inside. Driver Bianca Selene Torres Tamayo, 33, faced a second-degree felony charge for possession of a controlled substance and held on a 50,000 bond with an ICE detainer. Two relatives were also detained by ICE under immigration status and warrants.
