Monks Run High Tech LaserMonks Ink Business in Wisconsin
Rev Bernard McCoy and four monks at the Cistercian Abbey of Our Lady of Spring Bank operate LaserMonks selling refilled inkjet and laser printer cartridges online and by phone. The 2 year old venture aims to raise hundreds of thousands for good deeds and charity, with last year’s sales around 500000 and about 30000 profit. Monks say the venture blends prayer and work, offering products 30 to 90 percent cheaper than retail.
