Arts industry outgrows Texas arts budget
Texas arts drive growth but state funding lags. Odessa and Midland residents urged lawmakers at Arts Day in Austin as a Peat Marwick study places Texas arts at 1.7 billion in annual activity and 3.4 billion over a biennium. The report shows a $6 million request with only $500,000 available, while 500 funding applications await approval.
